Subscriptions & billing

UpPay is a subscription-based Shopify app billed securely through Shopify's Billing API. Paid plans are charged on a recurring 30-day or annual basis to your Shopify account and renew automatically until cancelled. The Free plan is free within its usage limits and requires no payment.

Cancellation

You can cancel at any time from the app's Plans page or by uninstalling UpPay from your Shopify admin. When you cancel a paid plan it reverts to the Free plan; you keep access to paid features until the end of the current billing period.

Refunds

Charges are processed by Shopify and handled in accordance with Shopify's billing terms. We do not provide prorated refunds for partial billing periods. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 14 days of the charge and we will review your request.

Who we are

UpPay ("the app", "we") is a Shopify app that adds partial payments, deposits and Cash on Delivery controls to Shopify stores. This policy explains what information the app processes when a merchant installs it and when shoppers use a store that runs it. Contact us anytime at veltrion.dev@gmail.com.

Information we collect from merchants

When you install UpPay we store your store's myshopify domain, a Shopify API access token, the app settings you configure (payment rules, styles, translations, COD and shipping rules), your selected plan, and usage counters. If you sign in to the app, we also store the basic staff account details Shopify shares during authentication (name and email) as part of the session. Billing is handled entirely by Shopify; we never see or store payment card details.

Information we process about your customers

The app stores order-level payment records only: Shopify order and draft-order identifiers, order names, currency, and the total, paid and pending amounts. We do not store customer names, email addresses, phone numbers or shipping addresses. On the storefront, the widget processes the cart contents, country and language of the current visit in transit to decide which payment options to show; this data is not retained. For logged-in customers, Shopify may pass a customer id that we use in transit to check customer tags against your rules; it is not stored.

How we use information

We use this information solely to operate the app: showing the payment widget, creating deposit checkouts via Shopify draft orders, enforcing your COD and shipping rules, tracking paid and outstanding balances, and enforcing plan limits. We do not sell or rent any data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties for their own purposes.

Where data is stored

The app runs on Vercel and stores data in a managed PostgreSQL database. Data is transmitted over HTTPS and access tokens are used only to call Shopify's APIs on your store's behalf.

Data retention & deletion

We honor Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks. When a customer requests their data or asks for erasure, we respond accordingly — since we store no customer personal information, there is typically nothing to export or redact. When you uninstall the app, Shopify sends a shop erasure request and we permanently delete all data stored for your store, including settings, order records, sessions and access tokens.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information (for example under GDPR or CCPA). Email us at veltrion.dev@gmail.com and we will respond to verified requests within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
